"Mostly Smoke" is my mantra today. It is a friendly warning, timeless advice.
But I take it as more of a game. An invitation to a party held in a dense mist. I want to follow the recommendation.
Enjoy my life, Follow my heart, knowing that God is always watching.
I want to banish anxiety and drink in the sunshine and the beauty
that surrounds me as long as I can.
But I long for the challenge of A game where I must reason and trust alike. I’m addicted! I find myself guessing what it could mean
Although the game master alone knows the riddles
And how to interpret them. He's found a way to keep me asking clues of Him.
And rely all the more on Him.
Evermore curious about Him.
I call the game, "Is it Smoke or Real?"
But over the years I've learned that:
“Even if you live a long time, Don’t take a single day for granted. Take delight in each light-filled hour Remembering that there will also be many dark days And that most of what comes your way is smoke.”
(from Ecclesiastes 11:7,8)
