His Will

He ordered blind people to see, and they did.

He spoke to the deaf, and they heard with clarity for the rest of their lives.

He healed people crippled with all kinds of terrible diseases

Both physical and spiritual;

And simply spoke to dead people, “Arise,”

And they lived again,

We say it was His will for them.

But that was them back then, I have reasoned.

What is God’s will for us, for me . . . today?

The answer was always a few pages over from those stories.

But I never made the connection;

I stopped reading too soon.

I assumed I didn't need any help.

I learned that those of us who can hear and see

Don't necessarily hear and see everything without help.

Remember that God gave those abilities to you and me. And still does.

And keep in mind there may be things right in front of us we don’t see,

There may be sounds all around us that we don't hear

Unless He wills it.

A will or testament is a legal document that expresses a person's wishes as to how their property (estate) is to be distributed after their death. The word will is also used to express frequent, customary, or habitual action or natural tendency or disposition, e.g., he is a strong-willed child.

So when we speak of Jesus' "will" I suggest we hold to one definition and not let go of the other. God's wishes for us, His will after death, is written in detail in a book we call the Bible. AND

it was always His disposition to heal, forgive, help, and many other good things.

He promised that after He left earth He would send a helper to us.us.

And because we have that helper along side of us,

We are able to do amazing things for ourselves and others.

Did you know He left us His will-in-a-nutshell?

Read to claim your inheritance!

He will also enable us to follow

His will every day of our lives.

The power He had then is just as awesome today.

And keep in mind, a will is something passed on, not required.

So you must accept it to have it.

It’s not a hand-out. It’s a hand UP!

Always be joyful.

Never stop praying.

In every circumstance, no matter what happens,

Thank God!

For this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

(I Thessalonians 5:16-18)
