Hindsight Is

Looking back,

It is obvious that I was shielded many times from the most severe consequences

Of my own thoughts, decisions, and actions; AND the plots and schemes of others.

It is as though the warning signs appeared right in front of me just when I needed them,

Even though as far as I could see there was no danger to me anywhere near.

Someone who cared saw the peril I could not.

And they clearly explained what could happen if I decided to keep going.

I might have lost my life; other times, perhaps I could have suffered great humiliation.

I will always be grateful for gentle guidance.

I don’t know why I was protected, for I don't see myself as anyone special;

But I'm certain I know 'WHO' warned me.

If asked to prove it, I couldn’t.

The proofs are much too personal.

So I remain quiet.

Looking to the days soon to be, I’m confident.

It’s not arrogance. It's education.

I've learned how to trust.

If I was protected when I just jumped into the depth of life without fist thinking (and I was) If I've been guarded from unseen creatures and their evil plotting ways (and I later diecovered I was),

Will it happen again when I need it?

Hindsight is not 20/20!

I still have no idea how I was protected, and the outcomes continue to make no sense.

All I know is I am here, I survived, and I am thriving.

There is no such thing as luck.

The wise will follow the advice of the wise.

The wise I refer to was a successful man who made devastating life mistakes

Yet was ultimately commended by his Creator for having a heart like His!

Foresight; the eyes of God, who alone sees clearly, will be my guide, and

“Hour by hour I will place my days in Your hand,

Safe from the hands out to get me.

Warm me with a smile, Lord;

Save me because you love me.”

(Ps. 31:15ff)
