Guys, we are natural born hunters.
We can be focused and deadly
Because we want that trophy.
And, we know better than to be that way
About SOME things.
But there are days . . .
We go hunting for trouble, or difficult.
Oh, we tell ourselves “I’m not like that.”
But deep inside,
If we only thought through the situation a little
We would surely decide to hunt for something else.
Also, so often the trophy we win isn’t really the one we wanted.
We must learn to discipline ourselves
And pray that God will train us to use the strengths
He designed in us to do truly amazing things,
Things which should be done only under His guidance.
Should we hunt?
You bet!
Every day.
But don’t miss this:
The original language in Proverbs 21:21 suggests that men
Who go “hunting” for THESE things
Will win the amazing trophy they always REALLY wanted.
The prize we were designed to capture:
“Whoever goes hunting for what is right and kind finds life itself—glorious life!”
Good hunting, gentlemen!
