It is said, “Truth is stranger than fiction.”
Life, for me, has seemed nonstop action, and mostly hasn't gone the way I thought it would.
Have you noticed your life to be that way?
I want to discover how the story ends!
And enjoy the thrill of the twists and turns in the plot along the way.
Neatly tucked inside a book or booklet of songs,
Bound together with 68 other nonfiction booklets,
I discovered a clue about our lives in one of the poems. Then,
I began to notice many other tips, cues, and pointers
Strewn throughout the booklet collection.
I was thrilled that I had discovered something that captivated me!
Personal messages on the pages that seemed to whisper
Warnings and instructions on how I/we should live.
I had no idea how that was possible. And wondered if
I might be mad? Hooked by this living game,
I was compelled to search for more clues.
Sometimes when I read a clue a second or third time,
A voice would suggest a slightly different take on the meaning.
A clue inside a clue…
I realize how fantastic this must sound.
Voices whispering in the night. Or day. But
One verse of a song—the one I mentioned earlier—
Keeps rolling around in my head.
Could it be more than just a poem?
It suggests that you and I are ‘real’ characters in a true story—
Not fictional. It plainly states that
We’ve been created by an author who possesses an
Unfathomable and overpowering imagination.
And that we are here
To do good things in a place gone bad.
I’m uncertain if we will ever know all the meaning or have all clues.
But, it seems reasonable we are here to help; and that
If you read the book of booklets as well,
We might combine our thoughts and resources. And
Share the messages in the whisperings,
So we may better understand why we are here together
And what we are to do. I have already observed that
This living game has many challenging obstacles AND distractions,
And, unfortunately, it is timed.
Oh, and, one more thing:
We’ve no way of knowing how much time is left.
We really should get right on it!
Are you game?
