AN ANCIENT RIDDLE frames personal improvement this way: “The edge of a sword becomes keener through honing, and the fragrance of the plum blossom sharpens in the bitter cold.”
Life can be harsh sometimes. But if we think about it, extremes can strengthen us—if we choose to think.
As humans, we can make all kinds of choices.
So, go forward assiduously when considering how to live, what to say, and what to do.
Determine to be your best possible “YOU.”
Like the plum blossom after the pervasive winter cold moderates, offer your warm, sweet fragrance of maturity to those who will appreciate it.
And be gentle without tiring of it.
Be generous: Invest in acts of kindness.
Kindness yields high returns.
How is it that so few seem to understand these truths?
Don’t hoard your treasure; spread it around.
Bless others whenever possible.
It’s always possible.
